V.W. Bro. John A. H. Scott Grand Junior Deacon

On Tuesday 16 September 2025, Ill. Bro. John A. H. Scott, 33°, was presented with his Grand Junior Deacon regalia by Active Members Steven E. Warren, 33°, and Thomas A. Wills, 33°. V.W. Bro. Scott received the appointment from our Grand Master at the request of the Sovereign Grand Commander in recognition of John’s years of service to the Valley of Hamilton and to Supreme Council, as the Chairman of Sound at our Full Annual Sessions. John’s wife, Jenny, joined in the presentation at Flamborough Lodge No. 357.

Arbor Memorial Foundation Cheque Presentation to the Hamilton Learning Centre

On July 23rd 2025 Jim Panoff, a Scottish Rite Mason in the Valley of Hamilton, presented a donation of $7,500.00 to the Hamilton Learning Centre on behalf of the Arbor Memorial Foundation. Our sincere thanks to Jim and the Arbor Memorial Foundation for their generosity and support.

SRCF Deputy Award To Erin Ready-Drake

On Friday 9 May 2025, Ill. Bros. Steven E. Warren, 33°, Active Member, Robert S. Whitmore, 33°, IPSGC, and Thomas A. Wills, 33°, LGC, had the pleasant duty of presenting Erin Ready-Drake with the SRCF Deputy Award of $1,000. Erin has just completed her 3rd year at Mohawk College in their Child & Youth programme and is enrolled for September 2025 at Brock University in their concurrent BA/BEd Child & Youth Studies programme. We wish erin every success in her future studies and teaching career.

Al McIntyre Scotch Tasting Night Donation to the Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation

On May 3^rd 2024 The Scottish Rite Club of Hamilton resurrected and hosted a well know charity event, the 24^th “Al McIntyre Scotch Tasting Night”. Event Chairman Steven Thiede (2^nd from L) assisted by Gary Magwood (3^rd from L) and Chris Cleaver (4^th from L), were ecstatic to toast to the presentation of a donation cheque of $2,091.53 to Steven E. SRCF Deputy Award To Hamilton Food Share

On Friday 22 March 2024, Ill. Bros. Thomas A. Wills, 33°, LGC, Michael R. Martin, 33°, TPGM, Steven E. Warren, 33°, Active Member, and Ronald J. Taylor, 33°, Deputy for Ontario, presented the SRCF Deputy Award of $1,000 to Hamilton Food Share. The Valley of Hamilton matched the donation with a second cheque of $1,000. We are pleased to support Hamilton Food Share who provide food resources to 16 member agencies operating food banks and hot meal programmes, ensuring that people living in poverty have access to healthy food for themselves and their families.

Ill Bro Robert S. Whitmore Fall Reunion Honoree

In recognition of his commitment and dedication to Scottish Rite Freemasonry, and the Valley of Hamilton, the 2023 Fall Reunion Classes are named in honour of Ill. Bro. Robert S. Whitmore, 33°, Immediate Past Sovereign Grand Commander.

A third generation Mason, Bro. Whitmore was initiated into Temple Lodge No. 324 in 1975. He served as Master in 1982 and in 1991-92 served as Grand Director of Ceremonies. In 1998 he was appointed to the Board of General Purposes in the Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province of Ontario, serving as Chairman of the Discipline Committee.

Ill. Bro. Whitmore joined Murton Lodge of Perfection in 1976, served as T.P.G.M. in 1994-1995, and as Grand Secretary for 19 years. He is a member of the Hamilton Chapter of Rose Croix and Past C-in-C (Honorary) of Moore Sovereign Consistory. Ill. Bro. Whitmore was elected Lieutenant Grand Commander for the Supreme Council of Canada in 2015 and served as Sovereign Grand Commander from 2018 to 2022.

Ill. Bro. Whitmore was advanced in the Royal Order of Scotland in 1999 and served as Provincial Grand Master of Ontario 2012-2017.

2023 Annual Golf Tournament

Our golf committee would like to express their gratitude and sincerely thank ‘everyone’ who made our golf tournament a major success! We couldn’t have asked for better weather, or a better group of golfers and the nineteenth-hole provided an ideal setting to end a great day of golfing with friendly banter among friends while enjoying a ‘wee dram’ with our piper (Jim Stewart) during dinner.

Proceeds from the event will be dispersed equally between the Hamilton Learning Centre and the Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation to facilitate them accomplishing their goals and objectives. Thanks to ‘everyone’s’ support, we managed to raise $10,800, 2022 and $14,870, 2023.

SRCF Deputy Award To The Good Shepherd Centre

On Friday 5 May 2023, Ill. Bros. Robert S. Whitmore, 33°, IPSGC, and Steven E. Warren, 33°, Active Member, were pleased to present a cheque for $1,000 to The Good Shepherd Centres, Hamilton. Each year the Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation makes $1,000 available to every Valley across Canada to be donated to worthy charities in their local community. The Valley of Hamilton is pleased to support The Good Shepherd Centres, Hamilton in their work to provide emergency food, clothing, daily hot meals, and shelter to the most vulnerable members of our community.
